The program is designed to help youth without secure housing access (i.e., homeless) and at-risk youth to access housing supports [and other] services. It is proven that youth are more successful when working towards their goals if they are housed first. Through the Shelter for the Homeless program, participants will have the opportunity to have temporary housing and recreational facilities before beginning to develop and build their credentials for trades. Homeless and at-risk youths who identify that housing is an issue will be provided with housing support as a lack of housing is an obvious barrier to successful participation in an employment program.
